Welcome to Raynbow Punk
Raynbow Punk is a paradise of colour, texture and fibre art, specialising in beautiful rainbows of hand-dyed fleece, hand spun yarn and art yarn and woven scarves made from these products. The fibres used at Raynbow Punk range from finest quality merino and organic falkland fleece, to sari silk fibre and dyed silk tops with plenty of variety in between! Meghan creates stunning combinations of colour from acid dyes which are then used for hand spun yarns or art yarns, or combined with all kinds of wonderful texture to create beautiful art batts. These yarns are then used to create textured, colourful and stunning hand-woven scarves. Felting and painting are other art mediums that are dabbled in here at Raynbow Punk HQ. More information about what I do with each of these mediums can be found throughout this website.

I have always lived in rural environments and I frequently take my inspiration from the natural landscape and beautiful scenery. I started spinning, weaving and dyeing at a young age whilst living in Norfolk and quickly fell in love with the process of working with fibre and textiles. After an entire childhood spent growing up around fleece and fibre, I undertook a silver and gold arts award to explore the combinations of fibre and textiles with other art mediums. During this experience, I exhibited along with other young artists at the incredible Wysing Arts Centre in Cambridgeshire, and ran a workshop at the Museum of Archaeology and Anthropology in Cambridge by the time I was 16. This lead me into undertaking a degree with the Open University part time to allow the opportunity to continue developing my fibre skills in spinning, weaving, dyeing and felting. I now spin on a Majacraft Suzie Professional (called Millie) to create raynbow combinations of yarn and art yarns and weave on an ashford rigid heddle loom.
